Jay

Dana Corby is known to many in the Pagan world as the female vocalist and dulcimer player on Gwydion Pendderwen’s 1975 “Songs for the Old Religion.” Few people know that she was also involved in the founding of the Covenant of the Goddess and is a long-time writer and craftsperson. She is the senior-most practicing High Priestess of the Mohsian Tradition, with all its existing covens descending from her.

The Witches’ Runes was originally taught by Lady Sara Cunningham in the 1970s; she said only that they were traditional. Dana took to them immediately, made her own set, and was soon making sets for other people. More than forty years’ experience and experimentation with them has given Dana insights and methods not originally taught her in Lady Sara’s class. Not a strictly Futhark system, The Witches’ Runes uses symbols from a number of folk and alchemical traditions and is often uncannily accurate.

In 1992, Dana realized the Runestone sets needed an instruction book so she wrote one. For 25 years she sold it only with the Runestone sets, making copies at Kinkos as needed. A few years ago she realized it was time to publish it “for real” and it’s now available both in print and Kindle editions on Amazon.
